Ana Calado Lopes
She holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine (2000, ICBAS-UP), a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering (2006, FMUC) with a focus on Nuclear Medicine, and completed her PhD in Health Sciences (2015, FMUC) in the field of Experimental Oncology. In 2024, she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in One Health at IPVC. She was a faculty member at Vasco da Gama University School (2002-2022), where she taught General Pathology, Pathological Anatomy, Histology, and held various administrative roles, including Secretary of the Scientific Council, President of the Ethics and Animal Welfare Committee, and internship coordinator, among others. Since 2022, she has been an Adjunct Professor at the Coimbra College of Agriculture, IPC, where she primarily teaches in the Veterinary Nursing undergraduate program. She is responsible for coordinating the curricular internships and is a member of the Pedagogical Council. Her scientific work focuses mainly on Experimental Oncology, particularly in the area of biomaterial biotechnology with translational potential for Human Medicine. In her Ciência Vitae curriculum, the most frequent terms contextualizing her scientific and technological output are: Thermotherapy; Ferrimagnetic nanoparticles; DMBA; Histological grading; Metastases; Mammary tumors. Additionally, she practices Veterinary Medicine at a Companion Animal Clinic, where she aims to study the effects of theranostics in spontaneous models of mammary neoplasia.
