Luís Roseiro
Luis Roseiro completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering (2004) at the University of Coimbra. He also holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (1997) and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (1993) from the same university. He is a Coordinator Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra - Coimbra Institute of Engineering. Luis Roseiro has been responsible for teaching various curricular units in mechanical design, experimental mechanics and automatic calculus for bachelor's and master's courses in mechanical, biomedical, electromechanical, and industrial management engineering. He has also supervised several PhD and MSC Thesis. He served as the President of the Pedagogical Council of Coimbra Institute of Engineering and has been the Ombudsman for students at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra since July 2021. His research areas include applied biomechanics, experimental stress analysis and structural identification and optimisation. He has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams on several research projects, serving as a lead researcher and research team member. Luis Roseiro has authored and co-authored several patents, utility models, and publications in specialised journals. He has also actively participated in national and international congresses and given invited lectures at various scientific and pedagogical meetings. He is the coordinator of the Applied Biomechanics Laboratory - Applied Research Institute and is a member of the Portuguese Society of Biomechanics governing bodies. Additionally, he is a Senior Member of the Portuguese Order of Engineers.
