Maria Aires Pereira
She graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2000 and obtained a Master's degree in Medical Parasitology in 2004. More recently, she earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences in 2017, with a thesis titled “Neutrophil-Leishmania Interaction During the Initial Phase of Leishmania infantum Infection in Dogs.” She is the author of 25 book chapters and scientific articles published in indexed international journals, as well as several communications at international and national scientific meetings, some of which were by invitation. She has coordinated 2 projects and is a co-researcher in various scientific projects, focusing her research primarily on infectious and parasitic diseases in animals.
