Maria Rosa Rebordão Cordeiro Simões Crisóstomo (Maria Rosa Rebordão) obtained her Ph.D. in 2018, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FMV- Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária), University of Lisbon (UL- Universidade de Lisboa); her Masters in Animal Production in 1990 in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Lisbon; and her DVM in 1986 at the FVM/UL. She is a Coordinator Professor at the Polytechnic University of Coimbra (IPC- Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra) and Coordinator of the Bachelor's degree in Crops and Livestock Engineering, at the Coimbra School of Agriculture (ESAC- Escola Superior Agrária)/ IPC. She practiced companion animal medical-veterinary clinical activity from 1993-2017. From 2010 to 2024, her research activity was carried out at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Animal Health (CIISA) at the University of Lisbon. Since March 2024, she has become an integrated member of CERNAS - Research Centre for Natural Resources, Environment and Society, and a collaborator of CIISA. She has published 38 scientific peer-reviewed articles in specialized international journals, 2 book chapters; 7 articles in proceedings of international congresses; 75 abstracts in proceedings of international congresses, and 31 abstracts in national congress proceedings. She has participated in 21 national projects and international cooperation projects. She has been the advisor/co-advisor of 93 bachelor's degree works, 9 master's theses, and co-advisor of one Ph.D. dissertation. She received 2 awards and/or honors. She has been involved as an evaluator of Ph.D. research grants for the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the Polish National Science Centre, and the Regional Science and Technology Fund of the Government of the Azores. She has also participated in the evaluation of final project reports for the FCT, and in the evaluation of a project of the Fondo Clemente Estable 2024 of the Agencia Nacional de Investigación e Innovación de Uruguay (ANII). She has also been an ad hoc reviewer of scientific articles. The most common terms used to contextualize scientific and technological production are: oxytocin; neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs); mare; endometrial fibrosis; prostaglandins; endometrium; cytokines; somatic stem cells; fibrosis; stallion; semen; artificial insemination; animal and veterinary sciences; reproductive biotechnologies.
