Morgana Weber Macena
She completed her degree in Forest Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil, in 2018, during which she had the opportunity to undertake her first research internship in 2017 at the Department of Chemistry, University of Porto. In 2018, she began a Master’s degree in Environmental Technologies at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, which she completed in 2021. Subsequently, she participated in the Pilot Project for the Valorization of Pine Cones and Pine Nuts in the Central Region, as part of a broader initiative to establish a Regional Network for the Valorization of the Forest Sector in the Central Region. Additionally, she was involved in the BioFeed Project—focused on natural-based antimicrobials in poultry feed to improve performance and animal health—conducted at the Agrarian School of Viseu. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Sustainable Land Use - Forestry and Natural Resources at the School of Agriculture, University of Lisbon.
