Sofia Varela van Harten
Sofia van Harten graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2015 by Universidade de Lisboa, PhD in Veterinary Sciences in 2009 by Universidade de Lisboa, Masters’ degree Tropical Veterinary and Zootechnique in 2002 by Universidade de Lisboa and has also a degree in Zootechnique Ingeneer in 1997 by Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. Sofia is Adjunct Teacher in Instituto Politécnico de Santarém Escola Superior Agrária since 2022. Her main research areas are nutrition, genetics, and disease prevention and she is also committed to advancing animal welfare and sustainable livestock production. During her career she published several articles in international peer reviewed journals, book chapters and has participated as Researcher in 6 projects.
