Joana Amaro Ribeiro has completed the graduation's degree in Biology in 2017 at Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, and the master's degree in Conservation Biology in 2019 at University of Évora and in Agronomy in 2022 at Polytechnic Institute of Beja, School of Agriculture. Joana A. Ribeiro is attending the PhD in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at University of Évora, funded by an FCT grant. In 2024 she did a PhD internship at Wageningen University & Research. Additionally, Joana A. Ribeiro took complementary education in First Aid, Self-Protection Measures and Ergonomics; Planning, Environment and Urbanism in the context of Climate Change; and is certificated in Advanced English, by Cambridge Assessment, showing multidisciplinary skills. Joana A. Ribeiro's core interests include the areas of natural sciences, conservation biology and agrarian sciences, with emphasis on plant protection and plant pathology, and has been focusing on the study of Tobamovirus fructirugosum to develop resistant-tomato plants using CRISPR. Joana A. Ribeiro is a researcher in the Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED). She has participated in several scientific projects, and the most recent one is Almond Protect, funded by Fundação La Caixa. During her career, Joana A. Ribeiro has published 5 articles in indexed international scientific journals, 2 conference papers with oral presentation, 7 conference abstracts and 27 conference posters, and 2 book chapters, collaborating with a lot of researchers.
