My name is Mónica Roldão Lemos de Almeida and I´m a biologist. I completed my degree in 2007 (Environmental Biology - Terrestrial variant) and my Master´s Degree (Conservation Biology) in 2008, both at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. Currently I´m a PhD student in Biosciences, specialization in Ecology, at the Coimbra University. In 2009 I completed a professional internship at Grupo Lobo, supported by IEFP (Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional). During my academic and professional career, I acquired skills in the areas of biodiversity, conservation, zoology, entomology, ecology, botany, scientific modelling and geographical information systems. I have experience in field and laboratory work, monitoring of animal and plant species, database maintenance, training and dissemination actions, organization of scientific events, data analysis and writing technical and scientific documents. I am the first author of a published and a submitted scientific papers, co-author of two published scientific papers, co-author of a book, co-author of a Best Practice Manual and co-author of technical documents. I have participated with oral and poster communications in several scientific events.
