Luís Cláudio de Brito Brandão Guerreiro Quinta-Nova
He has a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Évora and a master’s degree in environmental and Territorial Planning from the Nova University of Lisbon. He is a full-time Professor at the Polytechnic University of Castelo Branco since 1996.

He developed several research projects and published papers, that study the distribution of plant species and communities related to environmental factors and the impact of global change on its distribution. He has also developed studies on using spatial decision support systems in the planning and management of natural areas. He has experience coordinating land use planning and environmental impact assessment studies.

He is a Senior Member of the Order of Engineers and an expert in Geographic Information Systems by the Order of Engineers. He is also a collaborating member of BioGeoTec - Geobiosciences, Geoengineering and Geotechnologies and VALORIZA - Research Center for the Valorization of Endogenous Resources.
