Maria Paula Pinto was born in Porto, and lives in Lisbon, Portugal. Background Knowledge_Degree and PHD in Biochemistry, Lisbon University; Post-Doc in ITQB NOVA, under the theme “polyphenols and neuroinflammation: molecular mechanisms”; International Certifications_ Life Coach (European Coaching Association), Coaching Trainer (International School of Professional Coaching), Mindfulness Master Trainer (Institutes for Mindfulness Evolving). Professional Experience_Coordinator Professor (Biochemistry; Nutrition) and Sub-director of the Research Unit at Polytechnic University of Santarem; supervised graduate and master students, developed course curricula, coordinated Food Quality and Human Nutrition course, was Head of Food Technology, Biotechnology and Nutrition Department. Collaborated with International School of Professional Coaching; developed and facilitated more than 60 courses and workshops and seminars with emphasis on emotional intelligence, coaching, mentoring, well-being and meditation. Research_ Member of the Research Centre for Natural Resources, Environment and Society (CERNAS), and collaborator at Life Quality Research Center (CIEQV); main research areas are Mediterranean Diet, Bioactive Compounds, and Well Being; member of several projects, institutional PI of “TRANSPEER - A transnational skills programme to enhance the employability of researchers (Project ERASMUS + KA2 Action)", and coordinator of a consortium of seven European institutions (MeDiWeB consortium) to study associations among healthy lifestyles and psychological Well-Being. Published more than 40 scientific papers and book chapters.
